In one of Vienna’s most sought-after residential areas, a comprehensive renovation and attic conversion have not only expanded a more than 100-year-old corner building but also made it almost entirely barrier-free for the first time. With a keen aesthetic sense and a particularly careful approach, the building’s distinctive historic features were preserved. The existing building, with its striking corner tower, was equipped with an elevator on the courtyard side to maintain the visual integrity of the elegant historic facade. Even the attic conversion, which included the addition of a new rooftop terrace, barely altered the main facade: with tasteful restraint, more space for sophisticated living was created.
