The Art of Collecting

Giving properties a unique identity requires a trained eye for aesthetics. A sense that Norbert Winkelmayer developed from a young age, sparked by his early passion for art. His enthusiasm was ignited when he purchased his first watercolour by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, leading to a passion that culminated in a globally unique art collection, focused on the masterpieces of Roy Lichtenstein. Since then, new artistic works continually join his impressive collection. He enjoys sharing his fascination – in his properties and as loans for exhibitions in prestigious museums.

THE ART OF DEVELOPING

Our passion for art, real estate development, and the desire to create unique hideaways form a harmonious liaison, one that touches and inspires. Art evokes emotions; it encourages people to linger and reflect. We see a developed property as a work of art. In the process of revitalising a historic building, we excel at bringing out its beauty and uniqueness, allowing it to truly shine.

Bold colours, striking motifs, and daring statements:

Seemingly ordinary, mundane subjects were transformed by Roy Lichtenstein into captivating masterpieces. He created art that speaks directly to the viewer, while simultaneously captivating with subtle irony. Lichtenstein elevated the everyday to the extraordinary with remarkable depth, crafting iconic motifs like few others in his generation. We too transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

In excellent company:

Selected works from the collection have, among other exhibitions, been featured in the major Roy Lichtenstein exhibition at the Albertina.
